Overview The Marketing & Communications Director will provide strategic direction, leadership, and oversight for the Faith Church marketing team and manage the church’s communication strategies across digital, design, and video platforms. This role will oversee three key departments: the Digital Team (digital marketing and all digital platforms such as social media, the church website, YouTube, and the church app), the Graphic Design Team, and the Video Team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a strong leader, and someone with a passion for using communication to advance the church’s mission and connect with the congregation and broader community.

This position requires its primary duty to involve work requiring invention, imagination, originality or talent in a recognized field of artistic or creative endeavor.

Supervisory Related

Approve timecards for all direct reports.

Conduct Annual Reviews for the team.

Approve PTO requests.

Direct oversight of Video Team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Leadership and Team Management

Provide professional leadership, development, and manage the marketing team, including all members of the digital, graphic design, and video departments.

Develop and implement cohesive marketing and communications strategies that align with the church’s mission and goals.

Provide vision and direction for all marketing campaigns, digital outreach, and creative projects.

Ensure clear communication and collaboration between departments for cohesive messaging across all platforms.

Digital Team Oversight

Work with the Digital Team Director to oversee the digital marketing strategy, ensuring effective use of the church’s digital platforms such as the website, social media, YouTube channel, and church app.

Guide the digital team in optimizing online presence through content creation, SEO, social media engagement, and digital advertising.

Track digital performance analytics and adjust strategies to increase online engagement and grow the church’s digital footprint.

Video Team Oversight

Supervise the video team, cast vision, and monitor quality for all produced and distributed video content across all the church's creative outlets.

Ensure the church’s video content is engaging, relevant, and effectively communicates the message to both in-person and online audiences.

Creative oversight over live broadcast production, weekly television programs, promotional ads for marketing, creative event openers, and other video-related Faith Church needs.

Ensure pastoral care of the employees and volunteers on the Video Team to create a positive environment for spiritual formation and growth.

Graphics Team Oversight

Lead the graphic design team in creating visually compelling materials representing the church’s brand across print and digital platforms.

Provide art direction, proofing, brand compliance, and quality control of all graphic design; ensure designs are consistent with the church’s visual identity.

Collaborate with the design team on promotional materials, event graphics, sermon series branding, and other creative projects.

Ensure brand consistency and that the look and feel of all communications and spaces align with Faith Church’s mission and themes.

Creative Team Direction

Collaborate with the Lead Pastor, Worship, and Production teams to ensure excellence in weekend service experience; lead planning meetings to develop elements that reinforce the Pastor’s message and initiatives.

Work with Worship and Production/Tech Directors to plan and coordinate music, video, technical, and creative elements for weekend services and environments.

Develop and evaluate Creative Arts environments and elements across ministry areas.

Enlist, equip, and encourage qualified volunteers (dancers, actors, costume designers, set builders, decorators, artists, videographers, photographers, writers) to support Faith Church.

Stay informed of cultural trends to connect culture with the gospel and provide input to leadership on worship culture.

Lead regular evaluations and critique sessions to maintain excellence and assess impact of elements and experiences.

Provide thought leadership in all creative disciplines.

Strategy and Innovation

Develop and maintain a comprehensive marketing calendar for all digital, design, and video projects.

Stay up-to-date on communication trends, digital marketing best practices, and new technologies to improve outreach.

Collaborate with ministry leaders to support communication needs and promote events, services, and initiatives.

Execute timelines for the creative process, including proofing, executive review, and finalization of content.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong leadership and team management to guide digital, design, and video teams.

Expertise in digital marketing strategies (SEO, social media, email campaigns, content optimization).

Proficient in graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite) and video production tools (Premiere Pro, Final Cut).

Project management and multitasking abilities to oversee multiple campaigns.

Excellent written and verbal communication for storytelling and messaging.

Ability to analyze marketing data and adjust strategies for engagement and growth.

Training & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field (Master’s preferred).

5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or media leadership, preferably in a church or nonprofit.

Strong leadership with experience managing creative teams (digital, design, video).

Proficient in digital marketing strategies, social media management, SEO, and content creation.

Experience with graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite) and video production tools.

Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

A passion for using communication to advance the church’s mission and connect with both the congregation and community.

Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment and on filming shoots.

Physical Demands Office time is mostly sedentary; during video shoots, services and events, expect high energy for extended periods.

Position Type and Hours The weekly schedule is 40-45 hours, with occasional evening or weekend hours during peak seasons (e.g., Christmas, Easter). Hours can fluctuate.

Sunday: 6:45 AM – 2:45 PM

Monday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (rotation week: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM)

Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Thursday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Friday: Off

Saturday: Off (rotation week: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM)

Travel Campus to campus local travel and occasional overnight trips are expected.

Required Education and Experience

Level of experience: Intermediate (practical application)

4 years of experience in the Video Editing/Cinematography space
