The Commercial Landscape Superintendent is a critical leader in Operations. They handle the day-to-day business of running all field aspects of construction projects. They are an experienced construction superintendent whose duties include managing field production, crews, safety, subcontractors, scheduling, material want lists, quality, client relationships, and partnering with Project Managers and Purchasing Agents. The Landscape Superintendent is primarily a field position that works directly with both internal and external clients, and reports to the General Manager.
This role is located by the i4/75 intersection in Tampa, FL
Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Personnel Management
Talent Oversight:
Manage the full employee lifecycle, including hiring, termination, and daily labor budget management. Team Development:
Provide ongoing training and mentorship to build a high-performing field crew. Administrative Reporting:
Oversee weekly labor reports to ensure alignment with financial targets. 2. Project Execution & Operations
Schedule Management:
Create, manage, and execute project schedules to ensure all quality and timeline goals are met. Field Oversight:
Perform regular field walks and inspections to monitor progress and maintain quality standards. Operational Problem Solving:
Partner with Project Managers to identify needs, remove roadblocks, and ensure the crew has the resources required for success. 3. Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration
Client & Vendor Relations:
Act as the primary field contact for clients and build long-term, professional relationships with vendors. Project Documentation:
Collaborate with the team to develop RFIs and provide the necessary data to Project Managers for change order creation. Cross-Functional Partnership:
Maintain a positive attitude and communicate daily with Project Managers to ensure seamless project integration. 4. Safety, Quality & Compliance
Safety Enforcement:
Strictly enforce all project safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment. Contractual Adherence:
Manage subcontractors effectively and ensure all project requirements are understood and fulfilled. Professionalism:
Attend client meetings and perform other duties as required to uphold the company’s standards and reputation. Professional Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of
5 years of direct experience
in commercial landscape or construction management. Technical Proficiency:
Advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints, project specifications, and legal contracts. Field & Office Adaptability:
High comfort level transitioning between active construction sites and an office environment. Communication Skills:
Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills; ability to maintain a positive attitude and collaborate across teams. Critical Thinking:
Strong analytical and organizational skills with a focus on documentation and proactive problem-solving. Language:
