Job Summary/Description WILX-TV in Lansing, Michigan, is seeking a bold, forward-thinking Streaming Executive Producer. This is a leadership role for a digital-first newsroom innovator who understands how audiences consume news on streaming platforms and who can build programming that keeps viewers watching.

You will oversee the strategy, daily execution, and growth of WILX’s streaming products, including live and on-demand programming across the market-leading News 10+ streaming channel, WILX.com website, stations’ apps, and social video platforms. This role requires strong news judgment, calm decision-making in breaking news, and the ability to coach and inspire a team in a fast-moving, evolving space.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Lead WILX’s streaming editorial vision, programming priorities, and day-to-day coverage, streaming-first strategy – live events, breaking news and weather coverage, interviews, community-focused features, and "can’t-miss" local programming.

Ensure all streaming content meets WILX’s journalistic standards for fairness, accuracy, and ethical newsgathering.

Create repeatable workflows and best practices for live production, show planning, graphics, and clip distribution.

Supervise and train newsroom staff on streaming tools, best practices, and performance expectations; lead by example in both editorial and technical execution.

In coordination with the News Director, Content Manager, and Digital Manager, plan and oversee live streams and studio/remote productions, ensuring smooth execution, pacing, and strong visuals.

Partner with news/production/engineering/marketing departments to maintain technical reliability and to continually improve the streaming look (graphics, lighting, audio).

Use audience insights to refine programming choices, timing, formats, and distribution strategies: track metrics such as retention, watch time, peaks, and engagement.

Qualifications/Requirements

Significant experience in digital analytics and planning for digital content.

A proven record of success in the production and distribution of digital content.

Proven leadership skills and excellent news judgment.

Strong writing and on-camera presentation skills.

A community-minded spirit and vision to expand the stations’ outreach through coverage of impactful events to the greater Mid-Michigan region we serve.
