The DTS Manager oversees all Direct Through Stock operations for customer-owned materials—from inbound receiving through storage, documentation, movement, and delivery. This role ensures accuracy, speed, compliance, and service excellence across all DTS workflows. The DTS Manager leads a dedicated team, manages cross-functional communication with Sales, Project Management, Accounting, and Logistics, and drives continuous improvement of processes, systems, and customer experience. The position is both operationally hands-on and strategically oriented, charged with elevating DTS as a best-in-class service offering.**Key Responsibilities****Operational Leadership & Execution*** Direct daily DTS receiving, inspection, labeling, photo documentation, staging, storage, and outbound delivery preparation.* Maintain high accuracy in all product movements, container tracking, and storage locations using ERP systems (e.g., Solar/Eterm) and internal DTS software/tools.* Monitor job activity and prioritize workload to meet internal SLAs and delivery commitments.* Ensure material integrity through proactive damage identification, escalation, and resolution.* Oversee compliance with all DTS processes, documentation standards, and customer expectations.**Team Leadership & Development*** Supervise, coach, and develop DTS team members with an emphasis on quality, safety, productivity, and professionalism.* Coordinate staffing, task assignments, performance feedback, training, and cross-training.* Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.**Process, Systems, & Technology Management*** Own the end-to-end DTS workflow and refine processes to improve throughput, accuracy, scalability, and ease of use.* Leverage Power Apps, Power Automate, APIs, handheld devices, and other internal tools to streamline data capture, labeling, and product movement.* Maintain and enhance digital photo packets, COI documentation, label standards, and storage records.* Ensure accurate reporting and data integrity within systems, logs, and customer-facing documentation.**Cross-Functional Collaboration*** Serve as the primary liaison between DTS, Project Management, Accounting, Switchgear, and Logistics.* Coordinate with Outside Sales and PM teams to ensure alignment on delivery timelines, PO requirements, job constraints, and complex material needs.* Support customer and PM site visits, walkthroughs, and audits as required.* Partner with Sales Leadership to educate customers and internal teams on DTS capabilities and value.**Customer & Stakeholder Experience*** Deliver exceptional service by providing timely updates, delivery notifications, organized documentation, and clear communication.* Resolve issues quickly, involving appropriate internal teams to maintain trust and reliability.* Monitor and enforce scheduling expectations to ensure efficient preparation of job-specific material.**Facilities, Inventory, & Safety Management*** Maintain a clean, organized, high-standard DTS facility that reflects a premium customer experience.* Oversee storage optimization, pallet/container management, and space utilization.* Ensure adherence to all safety standards, forklift/warehouse procedures, and regulatory requirements.**Required Qualifications*** 3+ years warehouse, logistics, or inventory management experience; experience with customer-owned material workflows preferred.* Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage and develop a team.* High proficiency with ERP systems (Solar or similar), handheld scanners, and Microsoft Office Suite.* Experience with process improvement, automation, or workflow optimization.* Ability to manage complexity and prioritize work across multiple active jobs.* Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.* High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational discipline.**Preferred Qualifications*** Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, APIs, or similar automation tools.* Knowledge of electrical distribution, lighting, switchgear, and construction-related material handling.* Familiarity with DTS programs or reverse consignment workflows.**Success Metrics*** Accuracy of receiving, labeling, tracking, and photo documentation.* SLA adherence and delivery timeliness.* DTS team competency, consistency, and performance.* Stakeholder satisfaction (PMs, Sales, Logistics, Accounting).* Reduction of process friction and operational errors.* Continuous improvement contributions and measurable efficiency gains.**Working Conditions*** Primarily warehouse-based with regular movement of materials, forklift operation, and physical activity.* Standard business hours (7a-4p) with flexibility during high-volume periods.**Compensation Details:** The expected base salary for this position is starting at $65,000 depending on experience.At Shepherd Electric Supply, excellence in service, pricing, and products has been our mission since 1892.
