This role is located at corporate headquarters in Irvine, CA and allows for 2 days remote per week.
Indirect Tax Senior Will join the US Indirect Tax function, reporting to the Indirect Tax Director and working closely with the Tax Manager. This position will be responsible for preparing and filing tax returns in compliance with established deadlines. Additionally, this position will play a supporting role in managing tax audits and research matters related to US indirect taxes. There will be great opportunities to partner with various cross‑functional teams within Ingram to problem‑solve and deliver solutions as part of overall career development/growth.
Your role: Seasoned professional individual contributor who can work independently with limited supervision. May manage projects/processes. Able to collaborate with cross‑functional professionals of all levels. Influence others regarding policies, practices and procedures.
Provides solutions to a variety of complex technical and business matters. Will champion tax‑driven projects, programs and business initiatives using creativity and ingenuity.
Ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership abilities in navigating cross‑functional teams through complex tax topics through knowledge in his/her area of specialization.
Monthly indirect tax compliance
Compile sales reports in preparation of the sales/use tax filings
Reviews sales journals monthly for any discrepancies and work with the appropriate contacts to adjust accordingly
Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales/use tax filings in addition to other indirect tax filings (Gross Receipts tax, Excise tax, etc.)
Handle the payment process for sales/use tax, property tax, business license and other indirect tax filings
Prepare monthly journal entries
Prepare responses to government‑issued tax notices, and interface with state and local tax agencies when necessary
Effectively liaison with Procurement, Business Unit staff, IT, Legal, etc.
Become a resource for sales/use tax questions
Under the direction of the Tax Manager, will prepare business licenses renewals and other various indirect tax related filings
Will work with vendors and internal purchasing teams on sales use tax matters involving the issuance of resale certificates
Research state and local tax issues related to compliance, special projects, audits, protests, etc.
Assist in various administrative matters
Additional job functions may be added and/or re‑assigned as workload dictates
What you bring to the role:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Minimum 5 years experience in large corporate finance environment including a minimum of 3 years indirect tax specific experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Professional preferred
Ability to consistently meet monthly business deadlines (e.g. tax filings, payments, etc.)
Eagerness to learn and willingness to ask questions
Be able to work in a fast‑paced environment, with excellent communication skills, ability to multi‑task and prioritize
