POSITION SUMMARY
The MEP Superintendent is responsible for managing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role supervises the field labor force and trade contractors, coordinates daily activities, and maintains quality standards. Strong leadership, organizational skills, and effective communication are essential for managing schedules, resolving issues, and fostering positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct day-to-day on-site supervision of MEP field labor and subcontractors
Review and approve trade contractor payment applications with the Project Manager
Develop and maintain site logistics plans in coordination with the Project Manager
Oversee quality control, site testing, and inspection efforts
Monitor labor and material costs; manage self-perform work features
Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote an injury-free environment
Maintain project schedules and ensure activities meet deadlines
Participate in project meetings, including subcontractor and preconstruction sessions
Review RFIs, submittals, and cost reports for accuracy
Secure permits and coordinate inspections
Keep detailed daily records of MEP trade contractor progress
Assist with estimating and preconstruction planning as needed
Other duties as assigned

Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software
Broad understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Effective team leadership and delegation abilities
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent (or equivalent experience)
8+ years of trade contractor experience in a superintendent or similar role
