Zellner Construction is seeking an experienced Lead Superintendent to oversee day‑to‑day field operations on a large commercial construction project. This role is responsible for managing schedules, subcontractors, safety, quality control, and site logistics to deliver the project on time and on budget. The ideal candidate is a strong field leader who communicates well, holds subcontractors accountable, and runs a clean, safe, organized jobsite.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all onsite construction activities from mobilization through closeout
Manage and maintain the project schedule, coordinating subcontractors and deliveries
Direct subcontractor work to ensure compliance with plans, specs, and quality standards
Conduct jobsite planning and coordination meetings
Enforce strict jobsite safety standards (OSHA) and participate in safety meetings/inspections
Coordinate inspections, testing, and required documentation
Identify and resolve field conflicts, RFIs, and constructability issues proactively
Track manpower, progress, and productivity; report progress to the PM
Maintain accurate daily reports, site logs, photos, and activity documentation
Coordinate site access, staging, material handling, and housekeeping
Work closely with the project manager on cost impacts, change conditions, and planning
Ensure punchlist completion and assist with turnover/closeout activities
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial construction projects
Proven ability to lead large projects with multiple subcontractors and tight schedules
Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, means & methods, and jobsite logistics
Strong understanding of safety requirements and enforcement
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents
Proficiency with basic tech tools (email, smartphone/tablet, project apps)
Excellent communication skills and ability to manage subcontractors effectively
Reliable transportation and the ability to work onsite full‑time
Preferred Qualifications
Experience running large-scale projects (ground‑up, major renovations, multi‑phase)
Familiarity with Procore
OSHA 10 certification (or ability to obtain immediately)
Experience with high‑profile public sector work, industrial, or institutional projects
