Job Overview

Reliability Maintenance & Engineering (RME) at Amazon drives continuous improvement and maintains all Robotics and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to ensure customers receive the Amazon smile. As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician you will support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building, mentor junior technicians, and install and maintain automated packaging and distribution equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
  • Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical problems related to all MHE, including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship across Amazon Operations facilities.
  • Move up to 49 lbs, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, climb ladders and gangways safely, and perform regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent diploma.
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
  • Certification from Amazon's Mechatronics and Robotics Apprenticeship Program, or 2+ years of automated conveyor systems and controls experience.
  • 2+ years of conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures experience.
  • 2+ years of reading blueprints and electrical schematics experience.
  • 2+ years of demonstrating safety standards experience.
  • 2+ years of troubleshooting and diagnostics of material handling equipment (MHE) experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
  • 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
  • 2+ years of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles.

The base pay for this position ranges from $51,168/year in our lowest geographic market up to $78,104/year in our highest geographic market.
