Barnstorm is an Emmy and VES-nominated visual effects studio based in Los Angeles with operations in Vancouver, Montreal, NYC, Atlanta, London, and Hyderabad. We provide photo-realistic visual effects for a variety of episodic projects and select sequences in feature films. Responsibilities
Schedules, prioritizes, and tracks internal technical assignments and project details
Organizes dailies, rounds, and project meetings; organize and setup rooms/media
Ensures Shotgun (project management software) statuses and task assignments and project scope is maintained daily
Coordinates and package shot deliveries including submission documentation
Ensures team members are clear on daily deliverables; calendar management, records all notes from clients, dailies, and rounds
Communicates team updates; understands priorities
Coordinates and monitor multiple projects
Documentation and report preparation; tasks tracked and managed
Communicates any schedule changes to appropriate stakeholders; escalates to Supervisors/Producers
Follows up on approved and completed work; ensure delivery on time and to specification
Establishes quality control and project closures processes
Qualifications
4+ years of experience in the VFX or film production industry
Intermediate-Expert with Shotgrid/Flow; setting up, updating and maintaining projects
Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Google Suite
Demonstrated project management experience in VFX with the ability to problem-solve effectively in a fast-changing environment
Ability to effectively liaise and collaborate with clients, artists, and producers
Demonstrated aptitude for technical workflow challenges: directory structure, file formats, naming conventions, scripts, automation tools, etc.
A creative ability to interpret supervisor and client notes.
A thorough understanding of television/ episodic VFX production pipelines (and feature film a plus).
Knowledge VFX Software 2D/3D packages is considered an asset
Contract & Benefits This is an LA-based, project-based contract role looking to start in early 2026. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and either local to the Los Angeles area or willing to work on-site/hybrid as required by production. As this is a contract position, benefits may vary by employment status. Eligible contract artists may have access to certain benefits based on project length and local plan offerings. The posted pay range reflects what we believe is fair and competitive compensation at the time of posting. Final pay positioning within the range will be determined by relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and location. Pay ranges may be adjusted as market conditions evolve.
