Sain Associates is a multi-disciplined consulting engineering firm specializing in traffic/transportation engineering and planning, site engineering, infrastructure design, surveying, CE&I, and GIS services. Incorporated in 1972, Sain is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, with branch offices in Huntsville, Mobile, and Auburn/Opelika, Alabama, and Pulaski, Tennessee.
We are seeking a Construction Inspector to join our team in the Auburn/Opelika Office. In this role, you will be observing, documenting, and performing field tests to document that construction is in accordance with project plans, specifications, and DOT requirements, where applicable.
We have several CE&I projects beginning soon, and we anticipate even more opportunities to expand our inspection services in the surrounding area once we have a full-time inspector in our Auburn/Opelika office.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to ensure quality and compliance throughout all phases of construction.
Minimum Requirements
Experience with highway construction projects, per ALDOT specifications and procedures
Focused on client service
Strong written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in English
Ability to pass a drug test
Valid Driver's License
Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials, such as heavy concrete samples, weighing up to 70 lbs.
Education & Licensure
High School Diploma or GED
Preference is given to candidates who qualify as a Level 2 inspector or higher.
Preference is given to candidates who possess two or more inspection certifications (QCI, ACI, NCAT, Traffic Control).
About the Team Construction Engineering and Inspection (CE&I) is part of our Transportation team, which includes project managers, roadway engineers, and inspectors. Our CE&I team currently consists of six inspectors and three project managers.
We provide services for a variety of on-call contracts and active construction sites throughout Alabama. Current projects include a multi-use trail, a road widening project, roundabouts, and other transportation improvements.
