Job Summary The overall purpose of the Floor Technician position is to perform scheduled floor care tasks as may be assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. This position may also mop, sweep, dust, wash windows, shampoo and vacuum carpets, arrange furniture, etc. and generally clean furniture, equipment, fixtures and hardware.
Responsibilities
Maintain all floor surfaces.
Buff, wax, strip, and top scrub floors.
Extract and vacuum carpets as directed by Supervisor.
Utilize proper chemicals and equipment.
Report repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate.
Request needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
Identify and correct safety hazards and abide by safety rules.
Review Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and enforce it.
Attend weekly in-services, understand, and comply with Patient Care Management Systems.
Assure patient/resident safety.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience in Floor Care.
Experience in institutional housekeeping is helpful.
Experience in the use of floor-care equipment is helpful.
Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
