Electrical Estimator – Bechtel Corporation Bechtel Corporation invites applications for the

Electrical Estimator

role to support heavy civil, airport, light rail, renewable power, fossil power, and manufacturing projects. The position is located in Reston, VA and may include part‑time telework.

Job Summary Prepare, review, and present electrical cost estimates. Perform historical data analysis, maintain the database, and support estimate reporting and review presentations.

Major Responsibilities

Conduct quantity takeoffs for a discipline or commodity specialty and reconcile data for summary comparisons.

Develop unit and installation rates by coordinating with project teams, vendors, and contractors.

Produce cost estimates using a crew‑based approach and form crews from multiple crafts.

Document estimate assumptions, rationale, scope inclusions, and exclusions for each contribution.

Assist in estimate summary presentations and review meetings.

Identify risks in project work and propose mitigation measures.

Evaluate productivity and calculate probable construction costs based on crew craft productivity.

Support special estimating assignments, including converting estimates to budgets and loading revenue as required.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business management, or related field, OR minimum five years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Required Knowledge and Skills

Experience estimating, planning, or cost engineering on EPC projects in infrastructure or heavy industry.

Strong oral and written communication; ability to present cost information to peers and management.

Inclusive leadership and teamwork within a project or discipline estimation group.

Support and guidance for project estimators or managers in developing estimates from draft to completion.

Ensure estimate quality and integrity, including quality data checks.

Basic bid evaluation of cost and schedule criteria; may participate with procurement teams.

Understanding of EPC functions acquired through experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and PowerBI for estimating and project performance data.
