Job Title: Patient Services Representative II (PSR II)

Responsibilities

The PSR II represents the face of the company to patients who come in, whether as part of their health routine or for insight into life‑defining health decisions.

The PSR II draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.

The PSR II has direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens skillfully, safely and accurately.

The PSR II demonstrates Leadership Behaviors, focusing on process excellence and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.

Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center, or as business needs dictate.

Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.

Maintain a safe and professional environment.

Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established procedures.

Verify patient demographic info, initials, and patient signature post‑venipuncture to confirm tubes were labeled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct.

Maintain required records and documentation.

Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public in general.

Job Requirements

Ability to provide quality, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal on‑site supervision.

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.

Make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.

Have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record, if applicable.

Travel and flexible hours required to work multiple locations and cover Patient Service Center/In‑Office Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice.

Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high‑volume setting.

Demonstrate superior customer focus; communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors and patients; accelerate and embrace change; and have knowledge of our business.

Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.

High school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED).

Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

1‑3 years phlebotomy experience (REQUIRED), inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.

Customer service in a retail or service environment STRONGLY preferred.

Keyboard/data entry experience.

Candidate must have their own reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license to get to/from the worksite without issue.

Shift/Time Zone: 5:30 AM – 2:30 PM M‑F; 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM; Every other Saturday (REQUIRED).

401(k) Plan: Synectics offers all employees who are 21 years of age or older the opportunity to invest in the 401(k) Plan on the first enrollment date that is at least 30 days after employment begins. Enrollment dates are each January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, and October 1st.

Technical Certification Bonus:

Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to \$500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification related to the current position, achieved during employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees are eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after Synectics has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
