Human Resources Generalist
W3Global is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support day‑day HR activities across both office and manufacturing environments. The role covers recruiting, employee relations, training, benefits administration, compliance, and acts as a resource for employees and managers to maintain a positive work environment.
Location Akron, OH – In person.
Essential Functions
Partner with managers and supervisors to support staffing needs, employee relations, and workforce development.
Manage recruiting efforts including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding for both hourly and salaried roles.
Provide guidance on employee relations issues such as attendance, performance, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
Support investigations and ensure fair, consistent application of policies and procedures.
Administer employee benefits, leaves of absence, and other HR programs.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; update policies and practices as needed.
Maintain HR systems and employee records.
Assist with safety and compliance initiatives in partnership with operations leadership.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate performance review and compensation processes.
Support employee retention and engagement initiatives.
Assist with development and delivery of employee training programs.
Process hourly payroll.
Provide HR reporting and analytics as needed.
Support managers in handling sensitive employee matters while maintaining confidentiality.
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum of three years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment (union experience preferred).
Safety training experience.
Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work across all levels of the organization.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS systems preferred.
Education & Certification
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required (equivalent experience may be considered).
SHRM-CP or other HR certification preferred.
Work Environment The role functions in both an office and manufacturing setting. Noise level moderate in office, louder on production floor; occasional presence in production areas is required.
Physical Demands Requires frequent sitting and use of office equipment. Occasional walking, standing, and lifting up to 20 pounds may be necessary when visiting or supporting plant operations.
