Project Executive | Affordable Housing Construction Salary: $205,000.00/yr - $275,000.00/yr

A leading New York developer and general contractor with a strong pipeline of affordable housing projects seeks a highly skilled

Project Executive

to join the growing leadership team.

Responsibilities

Provide executive-level leadership and direction across multiple high-rise construction projects, ensuring alignment with company goals, schedules, budgets, and client expectations.

Evaluate project documents to ensure completeness, design intent, constructability, and compliance with NYC building codes, obtaining necessary clarifications from design teams.

Develop project execution strategies, oversee preconstruction planning, and coordinate with estimating, scheduling, and procurement teams.

Monitor project budgets and financial performance, implementing proactive measures to avoid cost overruns and maximize profitability.

Build, maintain, and strengthen strong relationships with clients, ownership groups, subcontractors, design professionals, and city agencies.

Oversee, mentor, and support project managers, superintendents, and field staff to ensure cohesive and high-performing project teams.

Lead coordination of project schedules, logistics plans, safety protocols, and quality control measures.

Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, RFI responses, and change orders to ensure integration of all building systems.

Ensure all permits, licenses, and regulatory requirements are secured prior to project commencement.

Manage risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.

Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and implement best practices for future work.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.

Proven track record delivering ground-up high-rise residential and mixed-use projects in New York City, including experience navigating DOB, DOT, FDNY, and other regulatory bodies.

15+ years of progressive construction management experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity (Project Executive or Project Director).

Strong expertise in managing large-scale projects exceeding $100M in value.

Demonstrated ability to lead teams of project managers, superintendents, and field personnel across multiple concurrent projects.

Deep understanding of project scheduling, cost control, and contract administration.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to represent the firm to ownership groups, investors, and external stakeholders.

Proficiency in construction management software (Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.) and familiarity with BIM coordination processes.
