The Human Resources Generalist plays an integral role in our continued growth and success. Under the supervision of the SVP Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for a variety of HR daily operations including recruiting, benefits administration, onboarding, offboarding, payroll processing, HRIS management, and HR reporting and special projects.

Responsibilities

Process bi-weekly payroll, monitoring and ensuring accuracy of payroll data; collect, audit and upload monthly & quarterly incentives/bonuses into HRIS; serve as the local payroll administrator and subject matter expert for the organization.

Serve as recruiter for all assigned positions: conducting screening, participating in interviewing, partner with appropriate hiring managers for selection of candidates.

Perform onboarding duties: setting up drug screens, conduct background checks, process all new hire paperwork including I9 document.

Prepare candidates for NEO (new employee orientation); coordinate with Talent Development.

Assist with benefit administration to include education of benefits to new hires and assistance with open‑enrollment rollout, provide daily support to employees.

Process and audit all employee tuition reimbursements.

Maintain all employee personnel records.

Reinforce company culture and values and work to support a positive work environment and morale among staff.

Assist with administering leaves of absence (FMLA, parental, LTD/STD, workers comp, etc.) and ADA requests.

Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to impact continual improvements in efficiency of department and service performed.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws, taxes, and best practices.

Process billing for all HR function areas.

Process notary applications and bonds for employees.

Sort and process incoming department mail.

Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices.

Present a helpful and positive attitude, focusing on solutions and promoting a collaborative environment at all times.

Practice and bring to life the “Yes And… culture” with the team.

Comply with established regulations and law requirements.

Perform various other HR duties as assigned.

Required Experience Two to four years proven experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience as an HR Generalist.

Required Skills, Education and/or Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Understanding of Federal, State, and District employment laws, taxes, and regulations.

Extensive knowledge of payroll processing including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.

Proficient with payroll software and HRIS (UKG knowledge a plus).

Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.

Skilled in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint & Word). \ degree of discretion, professional ethics, and judgment in confidential matters and information. Ability to communicate the Texas Trust culture and support an engaged work environment.

Ability to analyze problems, gather pertinent data and recommend solutions.

Ability to maintain composure and good judgment when dealing with deadlines, dissatisfied employees, or a fast‑paced environment.

Ability to multi‑task and adapt to changing priorities as needed.

Desire to work as a team with a results‑driven approach.

Requires an organized, detail‑oriented self‑starter who is able to work independently.
