Mechanical Piping Supervisor The Mechanical Piping Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems on industrial and commercial projects. This position ensures that all piping work is executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards, coordinating closely with project managers and other trades.

The foreman is responsible for supervising a team of pipefitters and laborers, providing guidance and support to maintain productivity and adherence to project timelines. Additional duties include managing project budgets related to piping activities to ensure cost‑effectiveness without compromising safety or quality, and ensuring that all piping systems meet design specifications and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Proven experience as a Mechanical Piping Foreman or similar supervisory role in piping systems installation and maintenance.

Strong knowledge of pipe bending techniques and piping system components.

Demonstrated ability to maintain quality standards and enforce safety regulations on construction sites.

Experience supervising and managing teams of skilled tradespeople.

Familiarity with project budgeting and cost control related to piping projects.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification in pipefitting or mechanical piping from a recognized trade school or institution.

Experience with computerized project management and budgeting software.

Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards such as ASME, ANSI, or API.

Previous experience working in industrial sectors such as oil and gas, power generation, or manufacturing.

Strong leadership training or certification.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily activities of pipefitters and laborers to ensure timely completion of piping installations and repairs.

Oversee pipe bending and fitting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.

Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards on site, conducting regular inspections and safety meetings.

Manage project budgets related to piping work, including labor, materials, and equipment costs, to optimize resource allocation.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless workflow.

Train and mentor team members to enhance skills, productivity, and safety awareness.

Prepare progress reports and documentation related to piping activities and workforce performance.

Skills Core skills include pipe bending, piping system knowledge, quality and safety enforcement, team leadership, and budget management. Preferred skills involve familiarity with industry codes and project management software, enhancing the foreman’s ability to lead complex projects efficiently and ensure regulatory compliance.
