The Engineer I, Mechanical is responsible for developing and maintaining mechanical system designs under the direction of a senior engineer or manager. They provide direction to designers and drafters regarding the documentation of their designs. Provides engineering support to internal and external customers and performs other tasks as assigned. Essential Job Functions
Functional & Technical Skills Translate requirements into a system architecture and detailed design. Design and develop complex mechanical systems, equipment, and products for industrial machinery. Determine feasibility of modifying existing or designing new equipment considering costs, time limitations, and other technical and economic factors. Validate designs through analysis and testing. Operational Excellence Coordinate own design efforts to meet production schedules and provide project task estimates and updates to project team. Required Qualifications
Education:
BS in Mechanical Engineering Experience:
0+ years of experience developing and maintaining mechanical system designs. Licenses/ Certifications:
Obtain and maintain railroad safety training and credentials. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of business software including MS Office suite. Collaborate with others to clarify requirements and develop solutions. Lead design reviews consisting of multi-disciplined and cross functional team member. Preferred Qualifications
Experience:
0+ years' experience in the following: Railroads, transportation, agricultural, or heavy construction equipment design. Power systems, engineer integration into power units and generator sets (up to 2000 Hp/1.3MW). Complex/large scale machine layout and kinematic design. Large scale structural design and analysis. Licenses/Certifications:
EIT Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge in Autodesk and ERP software Working Conditions
