The Commercial Relationship Manager is responsible for creating, developing, and managing banking relationships; originating commercial loans and developing deposit relationships; ensuring exceptional client service while maximizing profitability and minimizing risk.

Responsibilities

Through an organized and consultative approach, develop new depository and loan customer relationships with prospective clients.

Actively manage and maintain existing clients by independently monitoring the financial condition and business aspects of customers, responding to daily and long‑term banking needs with minimal oversight.

Expand existing portfolio by overseeing credit renewals, resolving problems, and cross‑selling other products with assistance of product specialists.

Meet with centers of influence, business brokers, CPAs, attorneys, real estate agents, business owners, senior executives to evaluate financial and business needs and provide expert advice.

Make independent threshold determinations regarding creditworthiness of prospective clients; assess risks based on business nature, financial history, collateral, earnings potential, bank obligation, cash flow, etc.; review financial statements, accounting papers, income tax returns.

Scrutinize customer information for irregularities, discrepancies, and fraud.

Structure and propose credits; negotiate credit pricing, terms, and structures within guidelines; facilitate resolution of credit approval process.

Monitor loan repayment activities and take necessary action to collect from past‑due accounts.

Maintain comprehensive knowledge of bank products, services, credit standards, and commercial banking pricing trends.

Keep abreast of local and national economic, financial, political, and legislative events and climates that could impact corporate and commercial lending activities.

Maintain professional and community relations to increase bank visibility and new business opportunities and further personal development.

Ensure BSA compliance by reading and familiarizing with BSA/AML program/policy; follow all BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures; complete all BSA/AML/OFAC related online courses.

Perform other tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field, with five years of credit and/or commercial loan experience.

Effective sales and customer service practices; strong grasp of relevant legal issues.

Maintains confidentiality of customer and employee information.

Self‑starter and able to work independently.

Strong sense of urgency, initiative, and drive to complete tasks properly; emphasis on working with and through people.

Sound decision‑making ability; recognize potential problems and take corrective action.

Flexible and adapt to changing business priorities.

Good interpersonal skills and communication at all levels of management.

Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
