Overview
Community Association Manager, Portfolio at FirstService Residential. The role provides leadership and management direction on behalf of the Board of Directors and FirstService Residential, serving as liaison to assigned communities, enhancing communication, enforcing legal compliance, and overseeing operations of the association and staff management. This role reports to the Hoffman Estates corporate office and oversees a portfolio of associations in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Responsibilities
Develop recommendations for community goals and lead action plans to achieve Board objectives. Provide community leadership and guidance to ensure that the needs or desires of the homeowners are addressed. Cultivate relationships with Board members through regular systematic communication (in-person, email, and telephone) to ensure client needs are exceeded. In partnership with the Board, create and implement the annual working budget. Monitor and report on the financial position of the association on a monthly basis. Ensure due diligence for the protection of client funds, property, and assets against all reasonably foreseeable contingencies or losses. Provide leadership to each Board meeting in terms of agenda support and written and oral reports. Summarize the priorities of each meeting with appropriate follow up. Maintain a level of service excellence in all interactions with residents, vendors, staff, and colleagues with knowledge and enforcement of the Community Governing Documents. Assess and monitor community needs: identify opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures; develop new programs. Select and collaborate with external vendor partners to implement programs or improvements. Recruit, hire, train, and supervise all community staff in accordance with the documented management plan. Evaluate and make recommendations for efficient and effective support of the community. Work closely with local emergency organizations to maintain established emergency and community evacuation plans as appropriate. Comply with all codes and regulatory requirements for the property in accordance with the Illinois Condo Act and FirstService Residential policies, including addressing and correcting any violations. Skills & Qualifications
Active Community Association Manager license in the state of Illinois. Understanding of physical building management, condominium law, financial planning, and related property management laws. Collaborative approach with coworkers, clients, and others; able to address problems constructively to find practical solutions. Budgetary knowledge and control for executing programs within the community and related cost-sharing activities. High energy, ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects. Superior oral and written communication skills. Portfolio management experience or equivalent in a related field strongly preferred. Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise management office and association staff members. Where applicable, association staff may be members of local unions. What We Offer
