Sales Representative – Primary Care – St. Petersburg, FL
Join us in promoting and selling primary care products to healthcare providers. This role drives sales performance in alignment with business goals within the assigned St. Petersburg, FL territory.
Responsibilities
Educate and engage healthcare professionals about clinical evidence and product efficacy to support on‑label prescribing.
Drive sales performance, ensuring forecasts and budgets meet or exceed expectations.
Build and develop professional relationships with primary care physicians, pharmacy staff, and other key stakeholders.
Maintain in‑depth knowledge of market, demographics, and managed care information in the territory.
Work with cross‑functional partners to generate pull‑through with local payers and community HCPs.
Collaborate with District Sales Manager and Regional Sales Director to develop local strategy and business plan.
Leverage formulary approvals and other opportunities through promotional, digital, and analytical tools.
Provide special education to healthcare providers per Shionogi’s guidelines.
Give strategic and tactical input to commercial colleagues for territory planning.
Prioritize time for optimal coverage of physician targets via in‑person and virtual discussions.
Apply ethical standards and comply with Shionogi company ethics and compliance standards.
Anticipate barriers to goal achievement and propose solutions.
Handle customer objections effectively and exceed expectations.
Leverage emerging technologies to enhance performance.
Understand and follow pharmaceutical industry guidelines and regulations with high ethical standards.
Minimum Job Requirements / Qualifications
BS/BA degree required.
Minimum 3+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or related transferable sales experience.
Proven track record of consistent high performance in a sales‑focused role.
Proven track record of developing long‑standing relationships with customers.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients.
Strong understanding of the primary care market and healthcare industry preferred.
Demonstrated ethical behavior and compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
Knowledge of the medical, healthcare, or pharmacy industry and clinical skills preferred.
Product launch experience a plus.
Knowledge of territory and relationships with key stakeholders a plus.
Proficiency in Veeva CRM, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and call‑planning tools a plus.
Experience in marketing, financial processes, Market Access, and regulatory environment within biotech/pharma a plus.

Other Requirements
Compliance with customer credentialing and safety requirements (e.g., up‑to‑date vaccinations, trainings).
Complete full onboarding curriculum including clinical modules, CRM documentation, and call standards.
Pass live call certification and mock objection training.
Attend refresher meetings on product and disease‑state updates.
Significant field travel (~80%) with some overnight or weekend work.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
Must have valid licenses and credentialing required for assigned territory.
Drive or fly to target accounts, customers, meetings, and conventions.
Salary Base salary range: $110,000 – $140,000 per year. Total compensation may include benefits, vehicle allowance, bonus, long‑term incentive, and additional pay.
