Pay Range $26.00/hr - $28.00/hr

In the Sales Counselor role, the primary function is to support Herons Key and Emerald Communities’ goals by making sales, thus achieving the goals of the Marketing Department.

Salary:

$26-$28/hour

Commissions:

Approximately $50,000 – $80,000 per year (performance‑based, tied to move‑ins and settled contracts)

New hires salaries are typically between the range minimum and the midpoint. Actual placement in the range will depend on a candidate’s job‑related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process.

Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 403(B) plan (Eligibility on 403b – 20+ hours per week); we match 50 cents for every dollar saved up to 10% of your annual salary. Matching begins the first of the quarter following 1 year of employment.

Full‑time employees are eligible to accrue up to 16 paid time off days, 6 paid holidays and 3 personal days. Pro‑rated paid time off is available to part‑time employees.

Primary Responsibilities

Recommend and implement approved programs that provide a smooth transition for incoming residents, coordinating with future residents and families, movers, and Herons Key staff.

Manage inquiry calls, lead follow‑up, appointment generation, and prospect tours.

Maintain accurate records on prospect leads, activity, and sales records.

Track telephone, e‑mail, and appointment activity as a means of monitoring effectiveness of marketing programs, including entering initial resident information into CRM.

Assist with, and follow established move‑in policies and procedures, to ensure successful new resident move‑in and in‑house moves.

Communicate the Herons Key life care program to prospective residents.

Interpret and explain resident contract documents, and Herons Key policies, to prospects.

Prepare accurate and timely records and contract documents for sales and move‑ins.

Maintain and update move‑in calendar.

Verify receipt of medical and financial approval forms; distribute to appropriate staff for review and approval prior to move‑in.

Ensure all cancellations are followed up and handled properly.

Seek out appropriate professional networking opportunities as a means to increase awareness of Herons Key.

Participate in marketing strategy planning meetings as requested.

Participate in staff meetings and resident functions as appropriate and requested.

Assist with open houses and special events.

Comply with Herons Key policies and procedures.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma.

Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

At least two years’ experience in working with the public in face‑to‑face interaction and at least two years’ experience in sales/marketing, preferably with a senior adult population.

Experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Professional demeanor.

Good judgment and decision‑making skills.

Tact and understanding of social, psychological, and emotional needs of residents.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Effective organizational skills.

Ability to deal with multiple priorities/demands.

Ability to learn and troubleshoot other computer software programs as needed (i.e., Salesforce).

Effective oral and written communication in English.

Regular, predictable, and dependable attendance.
