Strategic Account Manager Pumpkin is looking for a highly motivated and results‑driven Strategic Account Manager to join our team. The role focuses on supporting our efforts in the veterinarian channel, expanding our customer base, and driving revenue growth. You will build strong client relationships and execute effective sales strategies, educating veterinary professionals about the value of pet insurance.

Job Summary Field based position requiring weekly territory travel throughout the [specific region] metro area, with 4 dedicated in‑field days and 1 home office day required.

What You’ll Do

Actively pursue and close new business opportunities, aiming to achieve quarter‑over‑quarter growth of +15%.

Assume ownership of a portfolio of 110–130 accounts, managing and nurturing these relationships to drive quote, policy and revenue growth.

Conduct an average of 12 product training sessions per quarter, providing educational and persuasive presentations to potential clients.

Develop and execute tailored sales strategies for each account, leveraging data analytics and insights.

Establish a reputation as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, fostering long‑term client relationships.

Foster strategic partnerships and build a strong network to develop a robust pipeline of new business opportunities and collaborative opportunities.

Utilize exceptional presentation skills, persuasive abilities, and a talent for driving behavior change in clients.

Demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit and a self‑starter attitude, taking ownership of sales goals and initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

3+ years of sales experience, with at least 1 year of field/outside sales experience.

A self‑starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and proven success in launching new territories or working in low‑structure, start‑up environments.

Strategic and creative thinking to develop innovative sales approaches and step outside conventional methods.

Solid understanding of the products/services you’ve sold and expertise in concept selling, preferably in B2B or B2B2C roles.

Strong data analysis capabilities to examine past performance metrics and build effective sales plans for the territory.

A business‑minded individual who takes ownership of their book of business, analyzes historical data, and forecasts future performance, actions and trends.

Expertise in fundamental sales skills such as route planning, overcoming objections, closing techniques, etc.

Ability to pass/obtain a Property & Casualty License within 30 days.

Ability to work nights and weekends.

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Compensation The compensation for this position ranges from $60,000–$75,000 annually plus variable incentive compensation, structured as a 50% annual incentive bonus. Compensation may vary outside the listed ranges based on factors including location, qualifications, performance, skills, and experience. This compensation structure is one component of Pumpkin’s total rewards package, which may include additional discretionary bonuses and other short‑or long‑term incentives. If hired, employees will be in an “at‑will” position and Pumpkin reserves the right to modify compensation (as well as any other discretionary payment or benefit program) at any time—including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
