Job Details General Summary: The Lead Sales Associate helps maintain a clean, well‑organized store and provides superior customer service. Responsibilities include operating a cash register, stocking merchandise, maintaining planograms, managing store operations, and performing duties assigned by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
Operate cash register and scanner to process purchases, give change, and bag merchandise.
Receive, open, and unpack merchandise; stock, rotate, and build displays.
Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop floors, clean restrooms, and help set up sidewalk displays.
Assist with planogram implementation and maintenance.
Open and close the store as directed by the Store Manager.
Perform additional duties typically carried out by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in their absence.
Qualifications
Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Understanding of safety policies and practices.
Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
Cash register operation ability.
Knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies.
Knowledge of cashier accountability and deposit control.
Driver’s license and ability to drive to bank for deposits.
Education / Experience High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
Working Conditions
Frequent walking and standing.
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 40 lbs (occasionally up to 55 lbs).
Handling of merchandise and equipment such as scanners, pricing guns, box cutters, dollies, and carts.
Occasional climbing ladders and exposure to outdoor weather.
Fast‑paced environment with moderate noise level.
Occasional driving for bank deposits or internal meetings.
