This is a field based sales role for someone who likes being in front of customers, understands how manufacturing sites work, and enjoys solving real problems. You will inherit active accounts on day one, but you will also be expected to go win new business.
Most weeks you will be out with customers 3 to 4 days, mainly day trips within a couple hours. Overnight travel happens when it makes sense. You will also spend time in Charlotte early on for onboarding and hydraulic training.
What you’ll do
Manage a portfolio of established accounts (think MRO and recurring spend)
Build new relationships and grow territory share (hunting and farming)
Sell engineered solutions across fluid power and related technical disciplines
Work joint calls with internal specialists and vendor reps
Promote standard product lines and develop engineered solutions that include them
Coordinate special pricing and contract renewals with product management and vendors
Keep clean, simple CRM notes and run your patch like it’s your own business
What you’ll need Required
3 to 5 years in fluid power or automation sales, or equivalent experience
Comfort talking technical, asking good questions, and learning fast
Strong organisation and follow through (quotes, follow ups, contract details)
Confidence working independently, with a team first mindset
Valid driver’s license and willingness to be customer facing most weeks
Solid basics in Microsoft Office and Excel
Nice to have
Associate’s degree or similar technical background (Bachelor’s in Engineering is a plus)
Pneumatics experience (helps bridge into hydraulics)
Experience selling beyond parts: systems, projects, upgrades, efficiency improvements
Why it’s worth a look
Privately owned, values led business with long tenure and strong retention
A territory you can actually own without living on the road
Proper training and support, with a realistic ramp period
Hiring process The process is thorough and not rushed. Expect a screening conversation, assessments, interviews, and for later stages, a trip to Charlotte.
If this sounds like you, send a CV or a quick summary of your territory preference and background. If your CV isn’t polished, that’s fine. A straightforward outline is enough to start.
