Job Overview Digital Marketing Officer (0.6 FTE / 22.5 hrs per week). Contract: 12-month FTC initially.

Location: Remote / hybrid / office flexibility (head office in Brighton, East Sussex). Working hours: 22.5 hours per week (Flexible).

Salary: £27,000 FTE (Pro Rata’d 0.6 of £16,200).

About You You are a digital marketing professional with strong skills and passion for engaging content. This role will include occasional UK travel and is part of the only independent charity in the UK dedicated to improving the nation’s numeracy. You will work closely with the External Relations team on award‑winning campaigns, communications, content and marketing.

Job Responsibilities

Develop engaging content for digital communications channels.

Create and deliver marketing and social media strategies for a variety of campaigns and activities.

Collaborate with communications and campaigns teams to produce aligned content and key messages.

Ensure all content adheres to agreed tone of voice and style guidelines.

Monitor, review performance and provide insight for evidence‑based improvement.

Provide regular analysis and reports.

Manage social media channels (Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) to increase engagement and conversion.

Support website content delivery: create/manage audience‑led web content, SEO support, optimisation via keyword tracking, metadata updates, Search Console and Google Analytics analysis.

Support email marketing using Mailchimp: plan, create and execute engaging email journeys.

Deliver and develop paid social strategies and campaigns (Google, Bing, Meta) using Facebook Ads Manager and/or Google Ads; optimise campaigns and test new approaches.

Work alongside Impact and External Relations teams to identify and build understanding of target audiences and trends.

Essential Skills & Experience

Creative flair and experience in driving digital engagement.

Excellent writing, copywriting and proof‑reading skills with attention to detail.

Active interest in and understanding of good marketing principles.

Experience managing social media platforms.

Ability to plan, create and schedule compelling content.

Experience with website CMS (e.g., Drupal).

Knowledge of SEO best practices.

Experience with analysis and reporting.

Experience using content management apps such as Trello and Microsoft 365.

Desirable Experience Experience in roles such as Website Marketing Officer, Marketing Executive, Marketing Assistant, Website Editor, Marketing Communications, Marcoms, Social Media, Marketing Officer, CIM, Digital Marketing, Campaign Management, Digital Copywriter, Digital Marketer, etc.
