Responsibilities As the Assistant Grocery Manager, you help customers make healthy food choices by providing excellent customer service through managing and leading one of the busiest teams in our store.
Assist the Grocery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Grocery team
Effectively coordinate merchandising and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork
Assist in leading a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience your customers receive
Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Grocery Team
Unload and sort through store deliveries
Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and regulations, and validate that other Grocery team members are also aware of and following these procedures

Qualifications
At least 18 years of age and 1‑3 years of retail management experience (familiarity with natural foods and alternative diets preferred)
Dependable and reliable with a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes; including nights, weekends and holidays. Walking up to 3 miles per 8 hours is expected.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to give and receive direction in a team environment
Outgoing and friendly behavior along with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with our customers
Proven leadership ability to build, motivate and maintain staff, and working knowledge of personnel, margin, weekly sales, and financial goals
Strong focus on detail, analytical and problem‑solving skills
Strong organization and planning skills; able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
Must be able to vertically transfer milk trays weighing up to 60 lbs., from 9” to 62”, for up to 25 hours
Must be able to vertically/horizontally transfer boxes weighing up to 50 lbs., from 5” to 34”, for a distance up to 5 feet for up to 25 hours without mechanical assistance
Repetitive squatting, kneeling, or bending to access a point 5 inches from the floor for up to 30 hours is expected
