Energy Central, a media company that empowers, engages, and educates utility and power professionals, is growing our content & community team with the addition of a newsletter editor.
This team leader will be responsible for editing, managing, and upleveling the Energy Central Daily Newsletter, a roundup of the biggest energy news delivered Monday through Friday to 120K power pros.
What you'll do:
You’ll manage a team of top-tier writers and reporters crafting and curating Energy Central’s newsletters.
You’ll lead all written content for Energy Central’s Content & Community team, working with our multimedia, sales, and ops teams to ensure everything we publish meets a high standard.
You’ll help refine and implement Energy Central’s voice—one that’s friendly, intelligent, curious, and optimistic—across written content in newsletters and on social media.
What we're looking for:
A voracious reader of energy news, Substacks, think pieces, etc. (if you want to be a good writer, you need to be a good reader)
An energy wonk who loves to learn, talk, and think about the future of electric power (we’re looking for someone with a strong eye for curation of what really matters)
Someone with 3–5 years of experience in journalism, media, comms, or related fields with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organization (experience with copy editing is a plus)
Down with a little ambiguity and white space—we’re building something big, and we’re all about bringing creativity to the process
