Primary Position Purpose Facilitate the successful movement of loads for our customers by contracting and managing an outsourced network of transportation providers. Track freight to ensure customer requirements are met by the selected transportation provider. Make customer service the top priority by providing customers and carriers with the highest level of service possible.

Position Functions

Manage carrier relationship to negotiate rates and secure load coverage while maximizing profitability.

Establish, grow, and manage a network of carriers via lead generation, cold calling, and referrals.

Develop and maintain quality working relationships with carriers, transportation providers, drivers, and external/internal stakeholders by proactive communication.

Work with carrier base to drive the use of U.S. Xpress digital and automated systems.

Trailer management‑contribute to the balancing of trailer networks by leveraging carrier relationships and maintaining accurate system data.

Monitor carrier performance to maintain high level service.

Utilize carrier network and relationships to grow book of business to meet the demands of our customers.

Work with internal teams to resolve issues for carrier partners and customers.

Manage communication/documentation for Carriers in our systems.

Gather and communicate market information about the supply and demand of capacity in the marketplace to understand market conditions and lane rates.

Sourcing new business opportunities—vetting via internal/external data and providing market feedback to strategic procurement team.

Review carrier credentials to ensure they meet U.S. Xpress Logistics compliance and customer requirements.

Responsible for monitoring, tracking, and tracing all loads.

Make service the top priority by providing carriers with the highest level of service.

Collaborate with all levels of the organization to harness collective intelligence of the workforce.

Attend and engage in all meetings and trainings on recent developments, goals, and objectives.

What We’re Looking For Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred. (Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.)

Experience

Experience in Sales, Transportation, Finance, or Hospitality preferred.

Experience thriving in a fast paced, deadline driven work environment.

Skills & Abilities • Proficiency in utilizing Excel and/or Power BI at an intermediate level preferred.

• Ability to comfortably negotiate, persuade and manage conflict.

• Adept at assessing organizational dynamics and managing change.

• Work quickly and efficiently.

• Able to test solutions, learn, and iterate quickly.

Forward‑thinking and solution driven .

Effectively communicates through various channels .

Supervisory Responsibility None.
