LEAD SALES ASSOCIATE-PT – 21 and older only - EVANSVILLE, IN
The Lead Sales Associate handles cashier and stocker duties and leads in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. They will perform essential retail tasks, maintain merchandising, provide exemplary customer service, and ensure store profitability and safety.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Function as a cashier and/or stocker and lead in store absence of manager, assist in plan‑o‑grams and programs, provide exemplary customer service, perform duties to maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, teamwork, protect assets, reduce losses.
DUTIES and ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Unload trucks according to prescribed process.
Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes following company processes.
Stock merchandise; rotate and face merchandise and build displays.
Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
Order zones and drop shipment categories as assigned.
Assist in plan‑o‑gram implementation and maintenance.
Assist customers locating merchandise.
Maintain store cleanliness: bail cardboard, take out trash, dust, mop floors, clean restroom and stockroom.
Greet customers.
Maintain register countertops and implement register plan‑o‑grams.
Operate cash register and flatbed scanner, bag merchandise.
Collect payment and make change.
Clean front end and help set up sidewalk displays.
Facilitate safe and secure working and shopping environment.
Provide superior customer service leadership.
Follow company policies in SOP, handbook, communications.
Open and/or close the store as directed.
In the Absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager:
Authorize and sign refunds and overrides; count register; make bank deposits.
Maintain cashier accountability and key control.
Monitor cash levels and make drawer pulls.
Monitor cameras for unusual activity.
Supply cashiers with change.
Complete required paperwork and documentation.
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:
Perform mathematical calculations.
Cash handling procedures knowledge.
IBM cash register functions.
Cash, facility, safety control policies.
Effective interpersonal communication.
Safety policies understanding.
Read and follow plan‑o‑gram guidance.
WORK EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent; six months supervisory experience or related preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling.
Handling merchandise equipment, lifting up to 40 lbs (occasionally 55 lbs), climbing ladders up to 6 ft.
Fast‑paced environment, moderate noise level, occasional weather exposure, occasional driving for bank deposits and meetings.
