Hiring for an Inside Sales Representative in Northampton
Join a premier manufacturer and supplier of temperature sensors, electrical enclosures, and electro‑mechanical assembly services for industrial applications. We are seeking a Inside Sales Representative to support our Sales Department by planning and implementing sales activities and providing technical sales support. This role involves translating customer needs into sales proposals to maximize sales and margin growth. You will work independently as well as part of a team, reporting to the Sales Manager.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain successful customer relationships.
Satisfy customer and prospect inquiries with solution‑oriented and timely proposals.
Review customer specifications to determine equipment specifications, features, and special requirements.
Collaborate with engineering and technical staff to clarify customer needs and develop specifications.
Provide strategic product recommendations, pricing, and solutions to meet customer needs.
Compile and write customer and prospect proposals and quotations.
Participate in sales calls, meetings, and presentations.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in technical sales and sales support.
Experience in pricing, purchase order management, and outbound sales.
Strong skills in data entry, order entry, and account management.
Knowledge of manufacturing engineering and brand management.
Proven project management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Effective negotiation skills.
Self‑starter with the ability to work independently under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Engineering AA/BS in a Technical Field or equivalent experience in a similar industry.
General knowledge in temperature measurement or sensors.
Technical Sales Support experience.
The position is based in an office space, operating Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This role provides an opportunity to join a growing manufacturing company and advance within the organization.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Northampton, MA.
The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $31.25/hr.
