Job Details GENERAL SUMMARY:
Function as a Cashier and/or Stocker and lead in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. Assist in plan‑ogram maintenance, provide outstanding customer service, and perform duties that maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, teamwork, and asset protection.
Duties and Essential Job Functions
Unload trucks, receipt and unpack cartons and totes according to prescribed processes.
Stock merchandise, rotate and face items on shelves, build displays.
Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
Order zones and drop‑shipment categories as directed.
Assist with plan‑ogram implementation and maintenance.
Help customers locate merchandise.
Clean store, dust and mop floors, maintain restrooms and stockrooms.
Greet customers and manage the front end of the store.
Operate cash register and scanner, bag merchandise, collect payment, give change.
Set up sidewalk displays and maintain a clean, secure environment.
Lead in customer service and coaching peers.
Follow company SOPs, Employee Handbook and communications.
Open and close the store under Area Manager direction.
When Managing in the Absence of Manager
Authorize refunds and overrides, count register, and perform bank deposits.
Maintain cash accountability, key control, and security practices.
Monitor cash levels and make drawer pulls.
Monitor cameras for unusual activity (if applicable).
Provide change to cashiers as needed.
Complete required paperwork within deadlines.
Qualifications
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
Knowledge of cash handling, cashier accountability and deposit control.
Proficiency with IBM cash register functions.
Knowledge of safety and facility control policies.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication.
Understand safety policies and practices.
Read and follow plan‑ogram and merchandise guidance.
Work Experience and Education
High school diploma or equivalent; six months of supervisory experience preferred (or related training).
