The Senior Pastor is the primary preacher at all regular worship services. The Senior Pastor is also responsible for conducting funeral services and wedding ceremonies.
The Senior Pastor is the Spiritual leader of the congregation and shepherd of the church responsible for:
Counseling individuals with personal or spiritual problems, Visiting members in the hospital and at nursing homes, Visiting members or prospective members at home or over a meal
The Senior Pastor is a teacher preparing Biblically sound sermons, hosting Bible studies, and imparting Biblical knowledge to the congregation. The Senior Pastor has a heart for evangelism with a desire to fulfill the Great Commission. The Senior Pastor is an administrator responsible for tasks related to the church office, finances, facility, and leadership. The Senior Pastor spends adequate time in the church office to meet daily demands and is available to the staff and church members.
Hopewell First Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a full-time Senior Pastor who feels called by God to serve our congregation. Located in rural Hampton County at 6404 Hopewell Road, our church is situated about five miles south of Hampton, SC.
We are affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention and the Allendale-Hampton Baptist Association. Hopewell is looking for a pastor who meets the qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. The candidate must uphold the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. We prefer applicants to have 3-5 years of experience in pastoral ministry and ideally hold at least a bachelor’s degree in Divinity or Theology from an Southern Baptist Convention seminary or an accredited university aligned with the SBC.
