The Part‑time Designer is an expert in custom space design with deep knowledge of all storage and organization solutions sold at The Container Store. This role is a strong role model who displays excellent selling skills while maintaining a focus on exceptional customer service. Schedules can include daytime, evenings, and weekends. The position is a part‑time, hourly, non‑exempt role. Responsibilities

Manages and maintains multiple simultaneous customer projects through all phases with a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and follow‑up. Collaborates with customers to design and present projects and customized plans in a clear and professional manner. Closes sales efficiently and builds repeat/referral business. Maintains clear communication with managers and support partners to seamlessly complete projects from inquiry to installation to achieve sales goals. Acts as a brand ambassador, enthusiastically driving company initiatives by modeling professional and productive behaviors. Stays current on trainings, selling, product knowledge, promotions, processes, and philosophies when interacting with customers, CSD, and installation staff. Uses company tools and email consistently and proficiently. Participates in daily maintenance of the custom spaces showroom and visual presentation of the store. Handles cash and other valuables appropriately and securely. Maintains a safe working and shopping environment, ensuring safety and security of employees, customers, and property. Assists customers with confidential information related to the company credit card and application process. Arrives promptly and consistently to work the assigned schedule. Maintains discretion regarding all confidential/sensitive company and customer information. Performs other requested tasks and duties as needed. Qualifications

College degree preferred. 2‑5 years of sales and clientele experience preferred. Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the required dress code. Passion for following trends in custom spaces and retail industry. Strong computer skills: proficiency in Outlook, Word, and knowledge of Excel and Salesforce or other CRM tools. Ability to work safely and maintain a constant state of alertness. Committed to scheduled hours with flexibility for additional hours based on business needs. Excellent oral and written communication skills at all levels within and outside the organization. Able to prioritize tasks and focus on value‑added projects. Positive attitude, flexible, and passion for knowledge. Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Detail orientation while working quickly and accurately under pressure. Strategic and effective decision‑making in the best interest of customers and the company.
