Compensation and Benefits At Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation depends on education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation through short‑term incentives (e.g., bonus and/or commission) and may include long‑term incentives. Benefits include comprehensive healthcare, well‑being benefits, paid family leave, generous paid time off, banking perks, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401(k) plan with company match, and potential participation in a Non‑Qualified Deferred Compensation plan.

Job Responsibilities Position Summary
Provides customer service, processes both business and individual banking transactions, manages a cash drawer, cross‑seals bank services, and ensures prompt and efficient customer transactions. Balances and rolls the drawer each shift, reporting discrepancies to the supervisor.
Primary Accountabilities
Maintain institutional knowledge of banking.
Receive cash and checks for deposit, verify amounts, and examine endorsements for potential fraud.
Examine cash to guard against counterfeit bills.
Cash checks in accordance with bank policy; enter transactions into the computer system and issue receipts.
Assist customers with transactions and ATM operations.
Provide accurate customer service, including balancing the cash drawer throughout the day.
Understand basic knowledge of deposit and lending products and services.
Identify correct product types through needs‑based questioning to build and deepen customer relationships.
Demonstrate knowledge of bank products and services by referring customers to partners and entering opportunities into the customer information software.
Serve as relief or backup teller in other Midland States Bank locations.
Complete all assigned learning activities in a timely manner.
Participate in weekly huddles and one‑on‑one coaching sessions.
Demonstrate Midland States Bank core values and support the bank’s culture.
Participate in bank‑sponsored community activities.
Travel occasionally for training and team meetings; willingness to travel within market as needed.
Work in a Midland office to support internal and external customers.
Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education/Experience
Minimum requirement: High School Diploma.
Ability to
Stand for extended periods of time.
Lift and transport coin and currency bags as required (bags may weigh between 25lb and 50lb).
