Role Summary:

Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service. Handles food safely and keeps the work area clean and neat. Ensures kitchen equipment and dishes are clean.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, exhibiting care, concern, and patience.

Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner, whether in the department or elsewhere in the store.

Learn and address customers by name whenever possible.

Answer telephone promptly when called upon, providing friendly, helpful service and taking orders.

Work with co‑workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.

Takes department garbage to the compactor or designated area.

Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene and dress guidelines.

Wash department equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, pans, and other items.

Handle food safely and keep the work area clean and neat.

Remove trash in a timely manner.

Adhere to company policies and individual store guidelines.

Report to work when scheduled and on time.

Assist in other areas of store as needed.

Perform other job‑related duties and special projects as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or verbal instructions.

Perform simple addition and subtraction; copy figures, count, and record numbers.

Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information and request supplies orally or in writing.

Education and Experience

No education requirement.

Six months or less of similar or related work experience.

Physical Requirements

Perform medium work: exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, 10 lbs constantly to move objects.

Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.

Perform activities: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions Exposure to noise, equipment movement hazards, cleaning chemicals/solvents, temperature extremes, and possible electrical shock.

Equipment Used Standard kitchen tools and equipment, including disposal units, trash compactor, industrial dishwasher, mop, broom, box cutter, and box crusher.

Contacts Daily contact with general public and customers. Contact with federal/state agencies regarding inspections.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screen.
