Position Title Events & Community Coordinator
Job Type Full‑time
Location Los Angeles, CA
Position Summary The Events & Community Coordinator works across Pelican Parts and Rennline brands as the lead community ambassador and voice in internal and external forums, and in‑person at events. The ideal candidate is a car enthusiast (especially Porsche) who understands and represents what is compelling to like‑minded enthusiasts. The role collaborates with Marketing, Catalog, Sales, and Product Development teams to define and execute event strategies that increase community engagement and improve brand trust and awareness within the European car‑enthusiast community, especially Porsche.
Responsibilities
Coordinate, organize, and execute event plans, logistics, and on‑site presence from start to finish
Strategize on which events support Pelican and Rennline and how to support them
Attend car shows and other enthusiast community events to engage with customers and fans; manage live social media efforts while on location
Appear on camera for live social broadcasts (from our facility or at community events)
Coordinate with internal and external constituents relevant to the event, including vendor partnerships
Serve as the voice of Pelican (and relevantly Rennline) in our forum communities
Build closer relationships with our internal and external forum communities by being active in discussion topics and driving visitors back to the site
Moderate internal forums (Pelican Parts, Rennline, 986 Forums), creating and managing topics, threads, and announcements, and handling spam and forum quality assurance
Assist forum members as needed with help or issues
Maintain awareness of current topics and trends and report back to the team
Recommend forum communities that should have a voice and how to approach them
Curate and share relevant and exciting community content on socials and newsletters
Respond to all 5‑star reviews across Google, Yelp, Meta, and other relevant channels
Assist with marketing and catalog programs and priorities as needed
Requirements
Must be a car enthusiast who can "talk the talk" – being a Porsche enthusiast is a huge plus, with interest in other makes such as BMW and Mercedes
Automotive enthusiast who regularly attends car shows and other events, interacting with other community members
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong attention to detail, especially when coordinating logistics
Must be local to The Pelican (Los Angeles area)
Some automotive mechanical or DIY knowledge is a plus
Experience engaging in online forums is a big plus
Sociable and friendly, comfortable representing the company
Extremely comfortable on camera and interacting with community members
Collaborative mentality, works well within a team, shares ideas and input
Bachelor’s Degree is a plus

High quantity and quality of posts to our internal and external forum communities
Several stories from our forums shared to social media and newsletters each week
Growing membership and engagement in our forums, with revenue attributed to forum activity
An event calendar scheduled out in advance for both Pelican and Rennline
Demonstrated willingness and passion to attend and staff events, travel for events, and actively participate in Pelican Parts’ Cars & Coffee, Pelican’s and Rennline’s open houses, and other events
Salary $45,000 per year
