Job Overview:
The Assistant Manager, Banquet Operations oversees Banquet services in accordance with Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) to ensure guest satisfaction, promote guest loyalty and drive return visits. This position provides leadership and work direction to banquet team members executing the events. This position is responsible for consistently delivering excellent guest service and ensuring a high‑quality experience.
The Work You’ll Lead
Coordinates and manages banquet events and activities by ensuring appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and personnel.
Coordinates banquet activities in accordance with BEO’s and service standards to ensure guest satisfaction.
Assigns tasks and ensures follow through with team members.
Conducts daily operations in adherence to policy, procedures, and safety standards, including responsible alcohol service.
Interacts and establishes relationships with guests to improve retention, promote guest loyalty, and resolve guest concerns/complaints.
Utilizes forecasting data to prepare schedules and ensure optimal staffing.
Prepares and disseminates departmental communication regarding banquet events and activities.
Coordinates and conducts staff training and development.
Interviews potential team members, assists with continuous performance management for team members.
May be asked to perform Assistant Restaurant Manager duties.
Job Requirements
Combination of post‑high school education and/or restaurant banquet experience to equal 3+ years.
1+ years of director or indirect leadership experience of teams of 5+ people.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Teams) required; experience with restaurant‑specific software preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication and guest service skills.
Certified Food Service Manager Certificate or ability to obtain within one year of employment.
Ability to immediately obtain TIPS alcohol service certification.
