In this role you will promote and sell Snap-on branded and non-branded products, primarily to federal government and related contractors within the Washington Metropolitan Area. You will leverage superior sales, problem‑solving, and customer‑service skills to develop and maintain contacts and professional relationships within assigned territory and accounts. Your goal is to deliver exceptional service, meet established sales targets, and help our business partners become more productive.

Responsibilities

Promote and sell Snap-on branded and non‑branded products to the Military & Defense and Government markets.

Develop a sales plan that achieves the sales goal for the assigned territory, utilizing product mix, proper discount, and contract pricing.

Maintain a regular call schedule for existing customers and prospect for new customers within the assigned account structure.

Provide exceptional service and solution‑eering strategies to assigned customers, leveraging strong planning and organizational skills.

Work closely with customers to understand their business needs and develop solutions unique to their situation.

Present solutions on the shop floor or in the field to decision makers at all levels of the organization.

Prepare and deliver presentations on product knowledge, application, safety, ergonomics, and operational effectiveness.

Leverage the customer contact database to deepen accounts and expand market share.

Review customer activities at least quarterly with sales management and devise strategies to maximize sales volume and grow territory.

Analyze territory accounts, contracts, and develop strategies for growth and profitability.

Follow the conditions of the Federal Acquisitions Regulations when working with military and government installations.

Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Minimum 3–5 years of outside sales experience or prior military experience.

Military background in repair of aircraft, ships, or special‑purpose vehicles preferred.

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Thorough understanding of the Federal Government’s supply and procurement systems.

Executive selling and negotiation skills with the ability to penetrate layers of government facilities to reach key decision makers.

Strong organizational and sales skills with a sense of urgency and customer‑orientation.

Impeccable personal presentation and excellent verbal & written communication skills.

Technical aptitude and critical thinking capabilities to assist customers with specific application requirements.

Knowledge of Snap‑on products, services, conditions of sale and warranty policy is a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).

Valid driver’s license with an impeccable driving record.

Must hold all credentials or meet all requirements for assigned customer accounts.

Travel up to 80%, including some overnight stays.

Benefits This is a commission‑based role with average expected salary range U.S. $70,000–$110,000 annually, plus bonuses for achieving quarterly and annual sales goals. Additional benefits include medical, vision, dental, life insurance, 401(K), company‑paid retirement plan, paid vacation, and more.
