This position is responsible for directing the activities of the Components Sales Group, including sales activities that involve liaising with major automotive customers. The role will develop and oversee customer service, account management, and sales promotion activities, and direct sales planning, forecasting, and budgetary planning in consultation with executive management and customer stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee component sales activities for assigned customer (and potential customer) accounts.

Direct the staffing, training, and performance evaluation processes to develop and control effective sales programs on an ongoing basis.

Coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales quotas/goals and strategies to achieve them; advise suppliers, customers, and distributors on sales activities.

Analyze sales statistics to formulate policy and assist account management in promoting sales.

Review market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates; direct development of sales campaigns and strategies with sales and promotion associates to realize company goals.

Direct product standardization strategies to eliminate unprofitable items from sales lines, as appropriate.

Represent the company at customer and potential customer site meetings on a regular basis.

Represent the company at trade show events and/or trade association meetings to promote component products, as required.

Coordinate liaison communications between the sales department and other sales-related units, including the parent company.

Analyze and control expenditures of the business unit to conform to budgetary requirements.

Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume and potential sales.

Direct the development of sales forecasts, performance goals, and sales implementation action strategies, in conjunction with sales, customer service, and executive management, to realize company objectives.

Analyze and monitor sales statistics to develop and implement strategies and policies in support of sales growth.

Develop and implement methods and procedures for monitoring work activities, such as the preparation of records of expenditures and progress reports, to inform executive management of current status.

Meet with key clients and proactively assist sales representatives with negotiating and closing deals.

Direct special projects, as necessary, with internal groups including, but not limited to, sales promotion, logistics, quality, and information systems.

Perform other duties, as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities This position has direct supervisory responsibilities for OEM Account Managers, overseeing performance evaluations and conducting salary reviews and recommendations to executive management, and ensuring business unit conformity to company policies and procedures.
