Job Summary As the Sous Chef, you will oversee the successful operation of the Culinary Department at a facility. Responsibilities include supervising, preparing, and cooking various food items, developing daily menu items, and assisting the Executive Chef/Chef in new menu development and ordering. This is an energetic, entrepreneurial role for an experienced Culinary professional.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account.
Assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus.
Produce and execute catering events.
Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
A.S. or equivalent experience.
Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal degree or training.
Catering experience a plus.
Institutional and batch cooking experience helpful.
Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, e‑mail, and the Internet.
Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities.
ServSafe certified – highly desirable.
