LEAD SALES ASSOCIATE-PT - 21 and older only - Wells, ME S17864
Dollar General is seeking a Lead Sales Associate (Part-Time) in Wells, ME. This role functions as a Cashier and/or Stocker and acts in a lead capacity in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. Responsibilities include assisting in set up and maintenance of plan-o-grams, providing exemplary customer service, and supporting profitability, customer satisfaction, and teamwork while protecting company assets and reducing losses.
Responsibilities
Unload trucks and process merchandise according to store procedures.
Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes; stock, rotate, and face merchandise; build merchandise displays; restock returned and recovered items.
Order zones and drop shipment categories as directed by the Store Manager.
Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance; assist customers in locating merchandise.
Greet customers; maintain register area, operate cash register and scanner, total purchases, bag merchandise, and collect payment.
Maintain a clean and organized store environment; assist with sidewalk displays and safety rules.
Provide superior customer service leadership; follow company policies and procedures as outlined in SOPs, Employee Handbook, and communications.
Open and/or close the store under the direction of the Area Manager.
In the Absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager
Authorize and sign for refunds and overrides; count register and make bank deposits.
Maintain cashier accountability, key control, and cash security practices.
Monitor cash levels and perform drawer pulls; monitor cameras for unusual activities (where applicable).
Provide cashiers with change as needed and complete required paperwork according to guidelines and deadlines.
Qualifications
Knowledge of cash handling procedures, cashier accountability, and deposit controls; ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations and read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
Effective interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills; understanding of safety policies and practices.
High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
