Sales Supervisor Sales - Outside Sales

PURPOSE
Assists the Manager of Sales in overseeing the daily sales activities and sales staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists the Manager of Sales in the management of sales activities and sales team, including implementation and administration of sales incentive plans and programs and keeps sales team informed on quota achievement and changes to plans.
Reports on progress toward sales forecasts, and achievement of sales quotas and goals by sales team.
Oversees the processing of sales orders in order to ensure that services are consistently achieved in a timely, efficient and courteous manner.
Ensures customer inquiries are responded to in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensures company policies and procedures are adhered to.
Oversees the coordination of selling events.
Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises assigned employees including staff selection and training; planning, assigning and directing work; conducting performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field;
Four (4) years of sales experience;
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid driver’s license
COMPETENCIES
Strong knowledge of selling within building industry to maximize profit margins
In-depth awareness of competitors and market conditions
Knowledgeable in commodity lumber and related lumber products
Ability to think strategically, forecast and drive sales
Ability to work well with other key departments; understands how decisions impact those departments
Excellent customer service skills and sales experience
Articulates ideas clearly and concisely, adjusting message to the audience
Ability to supervise and achieve work productivity through others
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong negotiation skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ACTIVITY The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Subject to both typical office environment and outside locations with temperature and weather variations.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds.
Work is performed on both company and customer sites and involves driving to customer locations.
May involve walking on uneven ground of a potential customer construction site.
Occasional travel may be required.
