Job Purpose
As a Driver for Dawn Foods, you will complete daily delivery routes on time, while maintaining safety and quality. You will obey all federal, state, and local rules and regulations, perform daily face‑to‑face interactions with customers, represent Dawn Foods professionally, and assist with product handling and vehicle inspections.
Shift Schedule
Monday‑Friday: Depends on route, average 5 days per week. Start times range from 12:00 am to 5:00 am (dependent on route). End times range from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm (once the route is completed). Routes will not exceed DOT hours. Weekend work may be required based on business needs. Minimum of 1 overnight layover route per week.
Qualifications
Class “A” CDL License in good standing. Ability to work in the United States. Must be 21 years of age or older. Minimum of 6 months Class A commercial driving experience. Must be able to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly. Ability to operate material handling equipment. Experience delivering into food service accounts is preferred. Lift‑gate, reefer, electric pallet jack, and forklift experience helpful. Computer skills helpful.
Responsibilities
Abide by all federal, state, and local road regulations and DOT operating and recording procedures. Conduct daily face‑to‑face interactions with customers, representing Dawn Foods in a friendly, competent, and professional manner. Break down product, shelf stack, offload with electric pallet jacks, perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections, and collect invoice receipts from deliveries.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity. Handle objects over 50 pounds frequently. Require specific vision abilities: distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus. Stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed. Withstand cool and/or cold temperatures. Work outdoors and/or driving a video/GPS‑monitored vehicle. Be exposed to a physical environment involving dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements most of the workday.
