Responsibilities
Design and execute cover layouts for children’s books and related products
Complete interior text and book layouts with accuracy and consistency
Prepare print-ready files that meet production and publishing specifications
Design product packaging and supporting assets as needed
Implement revisions and feedback efficiently while maintaining design quality
Maintain organized project files and follow established brand guidelines
Collaborate with product, editorial, and marketing teams to meet deadlines
Support various interdepartmental design needs as assigned
Assist with quality control and pre-press checks to ensure accuracy
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Art, or a related field is a plus
Strong proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
Solid understanding of typography, layout, color, and composition
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to take direction, apply feedback, and iterate quickly
Comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously
Dependable, self-motivated, and accountable for deliverables
Alignment with BRAVE Books’ mission and values
Preferred Skills & Experience
Familiarity with Monday.com or similar project management tools
Experience working within Google Drive and shared file systems
Experience with print production or publishing workflows
Understanding of brand consistency across products
Prior internship, freelance, or portfolio work demonstrating layout and production design
