Primary Functions
Handle and place materials, lay pipe, tie rebar, and physically move items, materials, chemicals and tools at construction sites.
Work with air tools and assist other trades in performing their work duties.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience Educational and experience requirements include:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); completion of an apprenticeship program or related experience and/or training.
Ability to evaluate information using measurable standards and basic competency in math, geometry, volumes, and weights.
Effective verbal communication with co‑workers and the ability to work cooperatively in a positive manner.
Reading safety rules and instructions related to equipment and tool use and maintenance.
Recognition and use of proper hand signals for cranes and other equipment.
Ability to follow specific instructions, work within accuracy standards, and repeat short‑duration tasks according to set procedures.
Adherence to all safety regulations and procedures while cooperating with others at all times.
Physical Demands Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. Tasks frequently require standing, walking, using hands to feel or control objects, and reaching with hands and arms. Occasionally required to sit and lift or move up to 100 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold and heat, wet and humid environments, moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, fumes, airborne particles, vibration, and loud work environments.
