Field Mechanic
DEPCOM Power is seeking a Field Mechanic to support the construction and maintenance of utility‑scale solar and energy storage projects across the United States. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing fleet and construction equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable field operations. This position supports DEPCOM’s In‑House Construction group, which directly executes mechanical work on large‑scale solar projects nationwide.
Travel:
90% travel with rotating job locations and monthly home visits.

What You Will Do
Perform maintenance and repairs on fleet and construction equipment used on utility‑scale solar projects.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
Practice safe work methods and comply with OSHA requirements.
Maintain accurate paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed.
Assist with pickup and delivery of parts and materials as needed.
Support field operations with additional duties as required.
Fabrication and structural welding repairs.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Previous experience performing mechanical repairs on construction or industrial equipment.
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
Ability to read and interpret maps, drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
What Will Put You Ahead
Extensive knowledge of construction equipment and advanced mechanical systems.
Strong understanding of schematics and diagrams.
OSHA safety training and certifications.
Advanced mechanical skills and hands‑on experience with tools and diagnostic equipment.
Knowledge/experience with welding, fabrication, and hand flame oxy‑acetylene cutting.
For this role, we anticipate paying $35–$45 per hour.
