The Random House Group seeks a dynamic and highly motivated Marketing Manager to lead title-specific marketing campaigns for The Dial Press, reporting directly to the Vice President of Marketing.
The Dial Press, an imprint of the Random House Group, publishes books driven by the heart: emotionally affecting works of memoir, narrative nonfiction, and fiction that tell stories of self‑revelation, help us connect with others, and offer fresh, intimate, and inspiring perspectives. We are committed to amplifying the voices of women and LGBTQ+ and nonbinary storytellers and creating community through our publishing programs. Dial is the proud publisher of many New York Times bestselling and award‑winning authors, including Ann Napolitano, Lyla Sage, Lamya H, Glennon Doyle, Allegra Goodman, Sarah Kay, Cara Bastone, Laura Lynn Jackson, and Geena Rocero.
The Marketing Manager will work closely with publicity, editorial, sales, and the consumer insights teams to execute campaigns for books across a variety of genres: commercial fiction and romance, literary fiction, nonfiction/memoir, poetry, and wellness. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for maintaining and growing The Dial Press Instagram account and other platforms.
Responsibilities
Consumer outreach, pre‑order campaigns, author platform development, influencer marketing, advertising, and overall creative strategy
Identify potential audiences for each book and ways to reach them through advertising, promotion, and social media while also keeping up to date on new platforms and marketing methods
Proficiency as well as strong interest in platform development and in using social media as a marketing tool
Pitch potential partners to secure cross‑promotional opportunities that enhance campaign reach and effectiveness
Flexibly manage budgets for assigned titles, ensuring effective allocation of resources
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of marketing experience in trade or educational book publishing
Skills:
Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills
Self‑motivated and able to prioritize tasks effectively
Strong creative thinking and strategic planning abilities
Ability to multi‑task and thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
Proactive and exceptionally organized, with a strong attention to detail
Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience designing marketing assets using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva
Compensation and Benefits Salary:
$73,500. All positions are currently eligible for an annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
Location:
Hybrid position with occasional in‑office responsibilities, including but not limited to in‑office meetings, author visits or events, and daily ad hoc projects. Candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, within the tri‑state area (NJ, CT, & PA), will be considered.
