Sales Professional - Outside Sales

The role is responsible for achieving monthly sales targets. As a self‑starter, you will develop relationships within the community to generate qualified leads, follow up on leads generated from marketing campaigns to qualify and schedule sales appointments, and follow up with client families for referrals by establishing professional relationships and service excellence.
Job Responsibilities Revenue Generation
Achieve or exceed monthly sales revenue quota by applying sales skills and presenting the Dignity Memorial® Personal Planning Guide electronic PowerPoint presentations to consumers, informing them of at‑need cemetery and pre‑need arrangement services and products.
Guide and tour prospective families through cemetery grounds or crematory mausoleums, listen to needs, ask probing questions, and discuss options, offering solutions that meet their unique needs and promote the SCI Brand and service excellence.
Follow company processes and procedures, thoroughly and accurately complete contracts, follow up on outstanding documents and family questions, walk families through final contract, and address final questions.
Prospecting
Self‑initiate leads throughout the community, professional networks, civic groups, businesses, and organizations by building reliable relationships. Prospects at least 50% of the workday by approaching families face‑to‑face during events, door‑knocking, or seminars.
Maintain and track activity levels in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database to ensure productivity, often working nights and weekends.
Obtain referrals from families served through after‑care visits (ACV).
Schedule sales appointments and prepare marketing materials or cultural knowledge for appointments based on qualifying lead.
Build Relationships with Families
Establish and maintain professional, service‑oriented relationships with families by connecting with them, resolving concerns, and meeting commitments.
Support families in times of grief with acts of kindness; attend services and/or receptions.
Represent a continuous link from services provided at need, through after‑care, to providing services that protect families in the future.
Teamwork
Collaborate and build professional working relationships with management and staff to provide high‑quality services and improve processes.
Share family concerns with the rest of the SCI team.
Minimum Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred.
License: Funeral Directors License where required by state law; Life Insurance license where required by state law (company will support obtaining licensing); current state/province issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Experience: Sales experience preferred; industry experience a plus; previous Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems experience a plus.
Skills and Abilities: Computer and technology skills; goal‑oriented self‑starter; public speaking ability (comfortable presenting to small groups); ability to work well in a team and independently; ability to work a significant number of evenings and weekends; bilingual is a plus.
Compensation: $50,000 to $100,000 targeted compensation, with higher earnings potential based on exceptional performance.
