Location: Great Nashville Area
About the Role The Supervising Editor oversees the post‑production process for a fast‑paced, story‑driven YouTube channel with millions of viewers. This role is responsible for managing a team of video editors, maintaining a consistent cinematic style, and ensuring episodes are delivered on time at the highest quality.
You will act as the bridge between creative direction and execution—guiding editors, refining cuts, and elevating storytelling through pacing, sound design, music, and visual polish.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of video editors across multiple ongoing projects
Review edits and provide clear, actionable feedback to ensure quality and consistency
Establish and maintain editing standards (pacing, effects, sound, music, color)
Collaborate closely with directors, producers, and writers to execute creative vision
Oversee post‑production schedules and ensure deadlines are met
Final‑polish hero videos before publication
Help develop workflows that improve speed, efficiency, and quality
Maintain brand consistency across episodes and series
Train and mentor editors to grow skill level and storytelling instincts
Required Qualifications
5+ years of professional video editing experience
2+ years managing or leading editors
Strong storytelling instincts and sense of pacing for YouTube audiences
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects a strong plus)
Experience with cinematic sound design, music syncing, and effects
Ability to give clear, constructive feedback under tight deadlines
Strong organizational and communication skills
Deep understanding of YouTube content trends and audience retention
Preferred Qualifications
Experience editing or supervising
narrative / action‑based YouTube content
Familiarity with comedy timing, visual effects, and dynamic pacing
Experience working with large‑scale YouTube channels
Basic understanding of thumbnails, retention metrics, and audience analytics
